Ranitomeya fantastica 'True Nominal' CBB

Ranitomeya fantastica originate from the lowlands of Peru. Larger on the spectrum of thumbnail dart frogs, this species ranges around 3/4 of an inch.

This frog has a bronze-gold head and yellow collar that demarcates the head from the blue-black body, which is riddled with pale blue to white reticulation.

This is a very precious morph that is only known in Peru from a 40 ha. patch of forest, now surrounded by pasture. Captive breeding of these animals is crucial to their continuation in the hobby, as with all dart frogs.
